How to Make a Smoothie with Acai Berry
This article will show you not only how to make a smoothie, but how to increase the nutrition and weight-loss ability of your smoothie by tenfold
How do you increase the nutritional content of your smoothie, while also increasing its ability to help you lose weight? It’s simple. Just learn how to make a smoothie (any basic smoothie recipes will do), and add acai!
You may have already heard of the miraculous little acai berry. It is being called one of the most nutritious foods on the planet. One little berry holds twice the antioxidants of a blueberry, ten times that of grapes, and thirty times that of red wine. It’s also packed with fiber, protein, essential fatty acids (the good kind), beta-sitosterol (the plant sterol that is believed to fight high cholesterol), and other nutrients.
While acai berry research is still being done and the health benefits of acai juice are still being determined, many people believe that acai can help you lose weight; in addition to a whole host of other benefits. That makes it an excellent addition to all healthy smoothie recipes.
But first things first; here are the basics of how to make a smoothie: - Put 1 cup of fresh fruit into a blender. Fruits that work well in frozen fruit smoothies include blueberries, bananas, strawberries, mango, kiwi, pomegranate, and peaches. Fresh fruit is lower in calories and healthier than canned or frozen fruit, which uses sugar or high fructose corn syrup in its packaging.
- Add 1/4 cup acai juice or milk (see below for explanation)
- If you’re not lactose intolerant, you can add 8 oz of yogurt. If you’re watching your calories and want to stick to diet smoothie recipes, then be sure to use low fat yogurt. The yogurt, however, is optional.
- Add 1 cup ice
- Blend!
You Can Add In Acai Powder Or MonaVie Juice
To add acai berry powder, simply make your smoothie recipe and add the amount of acai powder as instructed on the label. That’s it! To add acai juice, you might need to change the recipe just a little bit in order to keep the smoothie from getting too watery. If the recipe calls for milk or other fruit juice, simply replace that amount with acai juice (or, you can cut the milk in half and use the remaining amount for the acai juice). Or, to have a pure acai berry fruit smoothie, just use the juice with some ice and fresh fruit of your choice.
The important thing to remember is that you don’t really have to stick to a recipe as closely as you do with other food. Experiment with a variety of combinations of fruit to find your favorite taste! And, of course, don’t forget the acai.
Now that you know how to make a smoothie with acai, there’s no excuse not to kick-start your nutrition and weight loss goals with a breakfast smoothie every day.
