Acai Breakfast Smoothie Guide

acai-juice-breakfast-smoothie-1

You’ve made the smart decision to start off with a healthy acai breakfast smoothie instead of breakfast in the morning. But...now what?

If you’ve never made your own homemade smoothie and don’t know where to begin, relax! It’s much, much easier than you’d ever imagine. The best part is, you can get as creative as you’d like, and change the breakfast smoothie to fit your taste and needs.

First, you need to find a high quality, freeze-dried, organic acai products. MonaVie acai berry juice or Sambazon acai berry powder are best. Why do you need acai? Because acai (pronounced “ah-sigh-ee”) is one of the healthiest foods on the planet. It is packed to the brim with antioxidants, protein, fiber, Omegas 3, 6, and 9, amino acids, beta-sitosterol, and essential vitamins and minerals. There is more nutrition in one dose of acai (assuming you buy the right product) than most people consume on their own in a week. By adding it to your smoothie every day, you are ensuring your body gets many of its vital nutrients it needs to be healthy.

Next, use the following low-fat smoothie recipe as your foundation:

    • 8 oz low-fat yogurt (pick whatever flavor you like)
    • 1/2 cup milk; OR 1/2 cup Mona Vie Juice
    • 1 cup of fruit of your choice
    • 1/2 cup ice

If you don’t use the Mona Vie juice, then keep the milk and add a scoop of acai powder. If you use the Mona Via juice, then you don’t need the powder; just be sure to use one or the other. And....voila! You have a healthy new way to start your day!

Here are a few acai berry smoothie variations if you need some ideas:

    1. If you’re lactose intolerant, don’t worry! You can leave out the yogurt and substitute the milk with soy milk or almond milk. You can also leave out the milk entirely. In this case, be sure to use Mona Vie juice to liquefy the smoothie, and extra fruit to give it some substance. Use any combination of 2-4 of your favorite fruits; for example, strawberries, blueberries, and bananas. And...
    1. You can add other protein powders or additional vitamins and mineral powder supplements to cater to your needs. Just don’t forget the acai to get the most antioxidants and well-rounded nutrition.

They also are handy if you’re on the go, because they come already bottled so you can take it and get on your way. And, they come in three flavors:
