If you’re confused about the true acai berry juice benefits, you’re not alone. There are a lot of claims out there that seem almost too good to be true; and other claims that this berry does nothing at all. How are you to know for sure?
By understanding why there is conflicting information, and then deciding for yourself. You see, the berry is still relatively “new” to the health industry. Although it has been growing in the Amazon rainforest for thousands of years, the juice benefits have only been recently “discovered” by the western world. So recently, in fact, that the berry research is still in its beginning stages, and so the true benefits of this berry have not yet been proven.
So why, you might ask, do so many acai berry products make so many claims, and even claim them to be true? As you probably already know, many of these products claim that these berry health benefits include weight loss, healthy detox abilities, lower cholesterol, increased energy, better sleep, and even anti-aging properties. Are these just claims to help sell a product to a gullible society?
Maybe....but maybe not. You see, in order for benefits to be considered “proven,” a product needs to be endorsed by the FDA. And the FDA, understandably, is reluctant to put their hard-earned stamp of approval on anything until years of research have been conducted. And, as mentioned earlier, there just isn’t enough berry information to make these claims....not yet.
So why do so many products claim these wonderful acai berry juice benefits? Because, based on the research that has been completed, it is easy and logical to assume some of these benefits to be true.
There are some acai fruit nutrition facts that we know to be true. We know, based on the research, that the berry is one of most nutritious fruits on the planet. We know that it has more antioxidants than blueberries, pomegranate, and red wine put together. We know that it is packed to the brim with fiber, amino acids, Omega 3, 6, and 9, and beta-sitosterol.
Based on this information, many people feel comfortable assuming certain acai berry juice benefits to be true. For example, we know (for a fact) that fiber helps us to lose weight, since it helps us to feel full and also helps reduce insulin spikes, which make us feel hungrier and crave bad foods. Since this berry contains a lot of fiber, it’s easy to assume that acai berry weight loss is one of the benefits of the berry.
In the same way, we know that antioxidants are an important part in detoxifying the body and in fighting disease, because they fight free radicals and flush out harmful toxins. Since this berry contains more antioxidants than just about any other fruit or vegetable, it’s natural to assume that acai will prove, in the long run, to be helpful in fighting disease and the effects of aging.
So, as you can see, there is a reason behind this conflict of opinion as to the true acai berry juice benefits; and that’s called time. With time, perhaps enough research will be completed to know one way or another. For now, take this product not for the “miracle cures” that some products claim, but for the fact that it is a healthy addition to your diet. Then, in time, you will see for yourself which claims end up to be true.
